Peter
Skinner’s paintings are inspired by the Cornish Coastline. He
attended the Redruth School of Art (now the Meadery !) and then studied
at Tunbridge Wells School of Art.
Peter’s experience is wide ranging, from owning his own gallery
in Bromley, Kent, to restoring old Victorian prints, but it was encaustic
art that inspired him to experiment further. He now works with a wide
variety of mediums, often mixing them, including wax, oils, pastels,
water colours and glass. The results have produced a rich combination
of talent and colour.
Peter is preparing for two exhibitions this year, one at the Cornish
Centre in Alma Place, Redruth in July and one in August at the Portreath
Surf Club (he sold out after last year’s very successful show).
Peter sells privately and takes commissions, but he also sells some
of his work through Inspired Earth in St. Agnes, and some of his work
is still on display in the gallery in Kent.
