Sara Clasper

Sara has been painting since leaving college in 1986. She moved from Oxford to the Lake District, to Cornwall, to Newcastle and has now settled back in Cornwall. During this time she trained and worked as a secondary school art teacher. Since returning to Cornwall she has been motivated by colour and the landscape around her.

Sara Works in acrylic and oils and is inspired by the landscape she lives in on the North coast. Walking daily on the cliff paths she sketches and translates these drawings into her paintings. Her landscapes are a vivid celebration of the colours she sees around her. The use of pen and pencil over the colours adds an extra element of energy and articulation to the subject. The vibrant and complementary use of colour gives Sara's work an exciting and hugely engaging appeal.
